Bioremediation results

After 6 days, when analyzing sample 2, improvements were obtained in all parameters.

Copper and Chromium

For these heavy metals, bioremediation generated excellent results after 6 days. Obtaining values below the levels established by Acumar, which are 0.09Mg/l for Copper and 0.02Mg/l for Chromium.

Bioremediation achieved an efficiency of 91% and 96% respectively.

Biomass

At the beginning of this project we generated BioSpheres with Chlorella Vulgaris, and they had a weight of 156g, at the end (day 6) all the liquid was extracted and they were weighed again and now they weighed 218g.

DO - Dissolved Oxygen

When analyzing the DO at the beginning of day 1, a value of 1.6 Mg/l was obtained, well below the 5 Mg/l stipulated by ACUMAR. After bioremediation, an improvement of 238% was obtained, reaching 5.4 Mg/l

Phosphorus and Nitrogen

We also analyzed the values of Total Phosphorus (P), Total Nitrogen (NTK) and Ammoniacal Nitrogen, in these parameters very significant remediations were obtained, 62% for phosphorus, 82% for total nitrogen and 93% for ammoniacal nitrogen. .

Active Algae vs Inactive Algae

Thanks to external funding, our project compared bioremediation using active algae versus inactive algae. After two days, both methods showed effectiveness, with the inactive algae achieving a 16% reduction in chromium and 8% in copper with the inactive algae.
